Y is another easy letter for me to do in this A to Z Challenge.
Y is for Yard
Our yard is not exceptionally beautiful.
Many of our friends have prettier yards but I love our yard.
It is large. When our kids were home many a fun ball game was played in this yard. We have planted every tree and plant but one.
I especially love my roses. John gave these bushes to me years ago as a Mother’s Day gift.
I think they are lovely even though I don’t take good care of them like I did before the accident. In spite of my neglect they bloom their hearts out. I have one special rose that really makes me smile.
It is this rose by our front door. This rose was the one plant that was here when we moved in 33 years ago. The tree beside it has grown up and shades the rose bush so it has struggled to stay alive…. but it manages to give me beautiful blooms each year. It lives up to the saying “Bloom were you are planted.” This sweet rose bush makes my heart smile.
John has planted different kinds of fruit trees.
We enjoy having the fresh fruit…
….And unusual flowers.
John planted our side yard to be an “Enchanted Forest” for our kids and grand kids.
We have had lots of fun there taking walks… having picnics….and…
Flying through the trees.
Our yard was not professionally landscaped or designed. We…(mostly John)…. have worked hard on it through the years.
It may not be as beautiful as some yards but I think it is Yummy and I love it…. and feel blessed to be able to enjoy it every day.
Yard is my very favorite Y
Have a great day.
Hugs, Lura

What a beautiful yard! And what lovely roses! My dad used to have rose bushes too. I want to play with your kids in the enchanted forest too! Looks like so much fun.
OMG Lura; I love the pictures of your beautiful yard. The enchanted forest is so fun. When we moved here 7 years ago we had to put in the backyard. We haven't been able to do a lot with it.
We had a lovely yard in Spokane and we had an area that was kind of like what I would call a little Sacred Grove. We had 5 wedding receptions there. I miss looking out the window at the yard.
Blessings and hugs!
You have a beautiful yard and I can see and appreciate all the love and work that has gone into it to make it a bit of heaven on earth. I'm sure your grand kiddos have a blast when they come to visit.
I miss the citrus fruit and the beautiful roses. Ours all froze 2 years ago. I was so sad. Could not get up the courage to plant more, as I have to dig through clay and rocks to do it. John dose a great job with the yard.
