I know that it is Dec. 8th but I still want to post the rest of my Thanksgiving smiles. Since Thanksgiving was just a little over a week ago, it seems like it should still be November….. not less than 3 weeks until Christmas. In spite of the date, I’m sharing our family Thanksgiving smiles.
David’s family left Tuesday night but we still had a house full of family and fun with our 3 daughters and their families.
Our girls…
Mindy, Erin and Lynell
Our tradition on Thanksgiving morn is for the guys to get up early and go off to play paint ball war
while Mindy gets one turkey into the smoker and I get one into the oven.
Erin made an apple pie from Grampy’s apples to go along with the pumpkin, pecan and coconut cream we already had. Mindy made her famous shrimp appetizer. Lynell and I joined the girls in the kitchen cooking and visiting…. and no….too many cooks did not spoil the broth.
Claire and Loni set the tables.
I went around taking pictures of family love…
I so enjoy watching cousins & siblings playing with each other and having fun.
Before long it was time to ….
Carve the turkeys and…. EAT!
I use my best china and serve our dinner buffet style.
We ate delicious food at beautifully set tables and drank our non-alcoholic sparkling cider.
As we sat down to eat our hearts were full of love and thanksgiving to God for all of our many blessings.
Erin and Patrick
Looking at these pictures makes my heart smile. (If you knew the story behind Erin and Patrick laughing, you would smile too.)
Mindy and Ernie
Lynell and Dathan
It is our tradition that the women cook the meal and the men do the dishes. I like that tradition.
After letting our dinner settle a little while we were ready to hit the dessert table. We had lots of goodies to choose from.
EJ entertained us with the audition solo he used to get into honor band while we rested and ate dessert.
Our family room was carpeted with wall to wall family.
Grampy and I had full tummies but even fuller hearts. Is there anything in this world more valuable and precious than family???? I think not. Knowing that we are an eternal family makes life even better. We indeed feel blessed and thankful.
Thank you for letting me share my thanksgiving smiles with you.
Have a great week. Hugs, Grammy Lura
P.S. You may have noticed that Johnny & Jalen were not here with us. I’ll tell you why in my next post.

Lura, I always love seeing your family when they get together. I was so blessed to have a little taste of that when I was in Utah with you those few years back. You have such a lovely family and they sure know how to squeeze the most out of every minute together! They were all so kind to me when I was there and made me feel so welcome. It was such a wonderful time. Each time I see photos of a family gathering of yours it takes me back to that wonderful week we had together. Love you so much my dear friend. xxoo
