I hope that all of my American friends have a great 4th of July tomorrow.
Actually... that is not correct... I hope all of my readers have a nice 4th of July
What I meant to say is...
I hope all of my American friends have a nice 4th of July holiday tomorrow.
...
I love the pancake breakfast and flag raising ceremony at church.
I love the parades.
I love the parties and neighborhood get-togethers.
I love the picnics and barbeques.
I love the ball games.
I love the band concerts.... and the fireworks...
I especially love it when the fireworks and the concerts are put together and we get a musical fireworks show.
To me nothing beats watching fireworks while listening to John Philip Sousa's
Stars and Stripes Forever.
...
...
I am very patriotic.
I love driving along and seeing our flag flying every where I go.
I always tear up at flag raising ceremonies ...or...
when I hear the Star Spangled Banner being sung.
...
I love our great country.
I am praying that our new President and administration loves America as much as I do
..and that...
they will do more to preserve the freedoms that our founding fathers intended us to have.
...
Happy 4th of July one and all
God bless America

We have so much to be thankful for, whether American like you or English like me. I love my country too and I am always thankful that we don't have much in the way of fighting or civil unrest - not that needs armed defence anyway.
Have a joyful weekend (what do you do if 4th falls on a Wednesday?).
love, Angie, xx
Happy 4th of July, to you, too!
Happy 4th of July Lura, albeit it a day late!! I hope that you have a couple of really great weeks and can't wait to talk to you when I get back from my holidays> I hope to be able to send you a post card from Austria! Wouldn't that be grand!! I love you lots, and lots, and LOTS! And I am a proud Canadian Brit that is happy to stand up and say I LOVE AMERICA too!
I hope you had a wonderful 4th! I'm sorry I haven't stopped by and said hi for a while. I've been so busy and have slacked off on my blogging :(. Did you guys get to have a fireworks display? I know a lot of cities didn't last night because of the economy and I know that California is having a lot of economical problems right now. I too love our great country- America! We are so blessed!!
I am so proud to celebrate the birth of this great nation. Our "adopted grandson" just returned from his TOD in Iraq and was married this past Wednesday night. He is in the Marines, so it looks like he may be headed to Afghanistan for another TOD before too long. Brian (and his wife now) came to Utah to visit our grandson Kort, and were married at Kort and Laura's house.
Ned and I had a great 4th of July with our daughter. Dinner, "Up" the movie, then the fireworks.
What have you decdided about US Airways? They HAVE BEEN HAVING some problems of late.
Belated 4th of July to you and John!!
GOD BLESS AMERICA!!
Hi Lura. Gosh I've missed you. I just did some catching up on the blog and things sound wonderful. I just cannot wait for September so I can get back to California and my dear darling friends. We just must do a tea party! Love to all, Jan
America the Beautiful! I love it too. It is a privilege to be an American. The Founding Fathers are special men whom I hold dear.
I am grateful for all the men and women who have sacrificed their time and life to keep this country free and safe. I pray for our continued safety and that our leaders will discern the difference between right and wrong in each choice they make.
I know that I get it from you... I tear up every time the flag goes by especially when accompanied by service men.
I am proud to be an American! What a special holiday! I love it!!
